Krautrock - The Rebirth of Germany (BBC Documentary) - Full Version

BBC Four

Documentary which looks at how a radical generation of musicians created a new German musical identity out of the cultural ruins of war.

Between 1968 and 1977 bands like Neu!, Can, Faust and Kraftwerk would look beyond western rock and roll to create some of the most original and uncompromising music ever heard. They shared one common goal - a forward-looking desire to transcend Germany's gruesome past - but that didn't stop the music press in war-obsessed Britain from calling them Krautrock.

Music played
1. Popol Vuh — Aguirre I L'acrime de Rey
2. Jimi Hendrix — All Along the Watchtower
3. Richard Wagner — Siegfried's Funeral Music

KRAFTWERK - K4 Live on Bremen Radio - June 25, 1971 (Bootleg)

An excellent quality bootleg of early Kraftwerk live from 1971. Ralf Hutter had temporarily left the band during this time so this is one of the very few recordings in existence of the Florian Schneider, Michael Rother, Klaus Dinger Line-up. Hutter would return to Kraftwerk by the end of the year and Rother and Dinger would go on to form NEU!

This is very different frofm the style that Kraftwerk would become known for. No synthesizers yet. Just flute, guitar, drums, occasional violin and primitive electronics.

1.Heavy Metal Kids (0:00-7:53)
2.Vom Himmel Hoch (7:53-23:26)
3.Ruckzuck (23:26-42:46)
4.Rueckstoss Gondoliere (42:46-58:10)
5.Stratovarious (58:10-1:09:25)

Florian Schneider - Flute, Violin, Electronics.
Michael Rother - Guitar.
Klaus Dinger - Drums, Percussion.

Live at Gondel Kino, Radio Bremen - June 25, 1971.

내가 가장 좋아하는 여성 보컬리스트 다그마르 크라우제.
내가 가장 좋아하는 <탱크 배틀>(Tank Battles: The Songs of Hanns Eisler, 1988) 앨범 중,
내가 가장 좋아하는 몇 곡. 그중에서도
내가 가장 좋아하는 <어머니의 손>(Mutterns Hände).

Dagmar Krause - Mutterns Hände

from Tank Battles: The Songs of Hanns Eisler

-

Hast uns Stulln jeschnitten
un Kaffe jekocht
un de Töppe rübajeschohm --
un jewischt und jenäht
un jemacht und jedreht...
alles mit deine Hände.

Hast de Milch zujedeckt,
uns Bobongs zujesteckt
un Zeitungen ausjetragen --
hast die Hemden jezählt
und Kartoffeln jeschält...
alles mit deine Hände.

Hast uns manches Mal
bei jroßen Schkandal
auch 'n Katzenkopp jejeben.
Hast uns hochjebracht.
Wir wahn Sticker acht,
sechse sind noch am Leben...
Alles mit deine Hände.

Heiß warn se un kalt.
Nu sind se alt.
Nu bist du bald am Ende.
Da stehn wa nu hier,
und denn komm wir bei dir
und streicheln deine Hände.

- Kurt Tucholsky
