I am completely in love with this film. Gus Van Sant is a genius, Jason Lew's screenplay is written with such candour and smoothness that it just captures you, and both Mia Wasikowska and Henry Hopper are such talented young actors. I was so happy to see a timeless true love story told with kindness and no pretence. It really touched me. :) And now I'll drop the serious mood and add that Hopper is really really cute :p. So please go watch the film if you have the chance, it won't dissapoint you. Definitely made it to the list of my favourites. I think the song fits the story pretty well, if you've seen the film you know that the "bird of the summer" is clearly Annie, not Enoch.
