"Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu" (Volare) 1958
- Domenico Modugno originale con Testi
Lyrics - Cantare
Volare di Domenico Modugno with Italian and English Subtitles - A great Italian Class if you take the time to learn the song. This video is taken from the Popular clip of Domenico Modugno at the 1958 Italian Eurovision. I tried dubbing the song, but this version is very different!
Poni-Tails - Born Too Late (Original Stereo)
At the same time that these three Cleveland, Ohio high school friends were riding high on the charts (all the way to #7) during the summer of 1958, we were also listening to such songs as "Yakety Yak" by the Coasters, "Patricia" by Perez Prado, "Poor Little Fool" by Ricky Nelson, "Little Star" by the Elegants and "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blue (Volare)" by Domenico Modugno. It was another day and another time when the popular musical tastes of America were quite eclectic.
Summertime Blues- Eddie Cochran
Rush - Summertime Blues (Eddie Cochran cover)
Track 1 from "Feedback", an E.P. of cover songs released by Rush on June 29, 2004.
This song was originally recorded by EDDIE COCHRAN in 1958.
While it has been covered a number of times, including by: The Beach Boys (in 1962, on the album "Surfin' Safari") and by THE WHO (during a number of live performances, and recorded in 1970 on "Live at Leeds"; a studio track was recorded in 1967 but not released until 1998 when it appeared on the remastered CD of "Odds & Sods".), it was the BLUE CHEER version (in 1968 on their debut album, "Vincebus Eruptum") that is considered one of the founding movements in early Heavy Metal. It can easily be heard in their combination of Heavy Blues Rock, Psychedelic Rock and Hard Rock, through heavy distortion and loud, heavy drum fills. As a power trio, they were an influence on RUSH. Much of the style for Rush's version follows BOTH, Blue Cheer AND The Who.

Rockin' Robin (Original) - Bobby Day
everly brothers - devoted to you by: God follower & believer
Darlin' you can count on me
Till the sun dries up the sea
Until then I'll always be devoted to you
I'll be yours through endless time
I'll adore your charms sublime
Guess by now you know that I'm devoted to you
I'll never hurt you, I'll never lie
I'll never be untrue
I'll never give you reason to cry
I'd be unhappy if you were blue
Through the years my love will grow
Like a river it will flow
It can't die because I'm so devoted to you
I'll never hurt you, I'll never lie
I'll never be untrue
I'll never give you reason to cry
I'd be unhappy if you were blue
Through the years my love will grow
Like a river it will flow
It can't die because I'm so devoted to you
