Seasons In The SunMusic 2012/05/17 10:58 http://act3.blog.me/110138600739 Seasons In The Sun 처음 Westlife가 부른것을 듣고 참 좋아서 자주 들었는데 제목과는 다르게 가사는 슬픈 내용을 담고 있습니다. 주변 친구들도 이 노래가 올드팝인줄 잘 모르더라구요. Westlife가 부르기 전에는 우리나라에 잘 알려지지 않았던것(?) 같아요. 올드팝 CD 컬렉션을 사고 이 곡은 없더라구요. ^^ 1974년에 Terry Jacks가 "Terry Jacks" 앨범을 발표하면서 들어 있던 곡입니다. Terry Jacks은 Evergreen을 부른 Susan Jacks의 남편이였죠 ^^ 후에 둘이 이혼을 했지만... Seasons In The Sun 노래는 가사를 보면 알겠지만 햇빛처럼 밝은 내용은 아니고 삶을 마감하며 자신의 주변 사람들에게 작별 이야기하고 있습니다. 가사 속의 남자가 젊은 시절 술과 향락 속에 헛되이 살아온 지난 날을 회상하며 후회를 하며 자신의 친구와 아버지, 사랑했었던 여자(Michelle)에게 작별을 고하지요. 듣기로는 가사 속의 남자가 사형수라고 하던데 정확한 것은 저도 잘 모르겠습니다. 그 주인공이 태양이 찬란한 계절에 삶을 마감하기 괴로운 감정을 담고 있습니다. 원곡은 벨기에 출신 시인이자 가수인 Jacques Brel이 1961년에 "Le Moribond (The Dying Man)"라는 제목으로 처음 나온곡입니다. 이 곡을 영어로 변역하여 나온 곡이 Season In The Sun이죠.
